This video was another useful source of information, but Ryan's ferry captain accent was worth the price of a subscription.

Isolating the peninsula with long-range fires, after preparing the electronic battlefield by hitting every radar, after striking bridges into Crimea. Ukraine has consistently targeted Russian Black Sea lift capacity and I expect ferry landings to come under fire at some point, too.

The Berlin Airlift was pretty successful and it lasted for a year and a half, but that was a coalition of winners from WW2, whereas Russian is all by their lonesome, so I guess it doesn't apply or isn't really relivant.

Actually, that is worth a video in itself.

The entire command, control and logistics of the airlift were designed by ONE GUY.

This guy rates as probably the smartest guy that ever lived, although I forget his name.

For most of the airlift one aircraft landed every two minutes, 24/7.

Even when an aircraft crashed, operations didn't even slow down.

Absolutely brilliant.

Wondered what "shaping" involved .... assumed that it implied total destruction of an asset class. Thanks for the enlightenment....

Major General William H. Tunner, he Commanded the "Hump" airlift supplying the Chinese, the Korean Airlift and of course the Berlin Airlift. Don't know if he "Designed" them, but historically he's given credit for being the brains behind the success of all of them.

Cuba protests the indefenite lease contract of guantamo bay, and thus doesnt accept the money for it (which if we are fair, is also kinda low anyway). I wouldnt consider that a high point of US foreign policy

Wouldn’t Russia use the little harbor near the Kerch bridge for civilian ferries? Maybe not ideal, but does Russia care about civilian losses?
