Damn. I didn’t spread this video, but I believed it was a book burning. Thanks for this sobering post about D.I.P.

As usual, this is a good take-down of DIP and I will be interested in seeing if the book-burning narrative flames out (sorry, but I had to pun).

I am disheartened, though, that one of those in the clip would double-down on burning books. I think his response is more damaging than the misidentification of the event as the burning of anything to which someone might object. Violent suppression of ideas is simply UnAmerican.

Ryan, you have shown your commitment to nonpartisanship, because you have loyal viewers who are from both sides of the fence. You are a very smart man who is needed by our country.

FYI, I have this exact model of the Pulsefire. I grew up in the country but have been in suburbia for 20+ years. Regardless, who wouldn't want a flamethrower?! :-) Its range is over 30 feet with a full charge (it's battery operated). They've also upped the price since I bought mine...

I agree this can be / will be weaponized by external forces, but I would opine that the politicians in the video don't care because the message they are being tarred with speaks to their base anyway - stand up against the liberal woke media, etc. That's the base problem on both sides of the aisle; at best they don't care about the division in our society, at worst they believe it only serves their purpose better.

They definitly do not care. I am curious to see if anything was in the boxes. While they denied there were books in these, one of the 2 did say he would burn the woke, pornographic books brought to Missouri schools so...

Ryan, I don't think that this is a particularly good example of the phenomenon you want to bring attention to. Better to focus on completely innocent depictions that are distorted beyond recognition to make a political point. This video is merely an example of a metaphorical, aspirational book burning being labeled as a literal book burning. It exaggerates more than distorts.

I look forward to your future post about YouTube demonizing this because it contains things that maybe-might-couldabeen used in war. Great content, keep it up!

Looks like book burning to me. This would not be allowed in Hawaii, because to many fires have been caused by MAGA supporters.

It's kind of weird to start off by saying you don't care about politics, and then finish up the video warning of China and Russia trying to exploit our political divisions. It sounds like you are saying that it would be unacceptable for China and Russia to "contribute" to the American political discourse, which seems an awful lot like caring about politics.

Politics and government in general are foundational to maintaining the ability to exercise intellectual and economic freedom (or lack thereof), and it is morally bankrupt to act like this is something that doesn't affect you one way or the other.

I think it’s because I grew up in the 1980s and I remember how Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill were friends. I think it’s because I grew up in the 1980s and I remember how Ronald Reagan and Tip O,Neil we’re friends it was never personal

I would like us to get like that again. But I literally devote 0% of my brain power to thinking about politics. I’m surrounded by in Washington DC.

If we all would spend 0% of our brain power thinking about politics, then there's literally no point in worrying about political disinformation or propaganda. Political disengagement and apathy among the American public is a specific objective of Russian propaganda, and it's sad to see you encouraging this mindset to the extent that you do.

China and Russian influence is not politics. And no, China and Russian have no business contributing to American politics, the same way we have no business contributing to another country's politics. Everyone knows if we are contributing it is not purely for the benefit of the local population, it is called foreign policy.

Ryan is doing a pretty decent job of staying above the fray, he equally pisses off both sides and equal gives them a bone sometimes. :)

Ryan, keep up the good work pushing back against Pooh bear and Grandpa in his bunker.
