Wow - - This is how the national news outlets should do their reports. Best, absolutely the best journalism I have seen in a long time... This report needs to be seen by everyone so that they can understand disinformation and know it for what it is....

I'm sharing. Fortunately most of my elder friends, including my step dad who is coming up on 90, and a die hard Republican until Trump, like new technology and I will have to prepare. him that Russia can now kick our butts. Also a nation that uses abortion as a very normalized form of birth control, being held up as the Christian center of the world would confuse him.

So why is Russia the second best army in Ukraine? A key point here is why hasn't Kyiv fallen? Why did it take Wagner and human wave tactics nearly a year to take Bakhmut? Why were the Russians pushed out of Kherson and Kharkiv? AND why didn't Russia take them back this spring? It was US 155 mm used by US donated M777 artillery that stopped Russia cold. Why did the Russian offense grind to a halt after US HIMARS and MLRS launchers were donated with thousands of GMLRS? Finally your whole point on abortion is non sequitur, meaningless. Seriously, I don't mean this in a pejorative sense, you may want to move to a country you consider more Christian because as a Christian you should not want to FORCE you religious views on anyone.

Expand full comment

Exactly. Freedom of Religion also means freedom *from* religion.

The Ukrainians are doing an amazing job despite the lack of attack helicopters and modern jets!

Can you give us an example of a Christian “forcing himself” on an unbeliever? Hopefully you have encountered Christians who are compassionate enough and caring enough to share the greatest gift anybody could ever receive - forgiveness of sin and eternal life through Jesus. John 3:16

I don't think the national media would do it this way - they'd have to use facts to back up their analysis. So far, at least, it's mainly been the non-traditional media using this type of analysis to show the truth of what the traditional media has been shoving down our throats.

I appreciate you defending the protections of the 1st Amendment afforded Mr. Tucker. I am a little less forgiving than you, and I find it upsetting when someone like Mr. Tucker or Colonel MacGregor (retired) decide to profit off the suffering of others, and by serving as mouthpieces for our enemy. You may be too kind to use the term quisling to describe their statements, but it saddens me that so many people I am friends and family with think Mr. Tucker is seeking to pursue anything other than to profit off damaging this Republic. As always, I am grateful for your detailed analysis.

Lol, was thinking about the term Quisling the other day and wondered if anyone still used that outside of Norway. Yes, kudos to Ryan 'cuz I too am not that forgiving.

If I had my way it would soon be Pvt MacGregor without any retirement. Blatantly spreading ruzzian talking points is disgusting and disgraceful.

You're treating Col. MacGregor with kid gloves. He's being willfully deceptive and willfully pushing misinformation.

Expand full comment

No, I think Ryan treating the Col. with the respect his rank is due. The Col. may be wrong about a lot of things and his perspective hopelessly out of date, but Ryan is too good a soldier to disrespect someone who has served the country. Ryan is just respectfully pointing out where the Col is misinformed.

McBeth’s depth of knowledge makes it easier for him to remain considerate. McBeth’s respectful tone is all the more effective for labeling the Colonel a venal antique trading on 20 year old credentials to con a buck.

So glad I don't have that problem, because in my view the Col is a lying POS who should be immediately reprimanded by the army for blatantly lying to the public, and Tucker should be put up against a wall and shot as a traitor.

My husband served at the same time. He works a job now where he helps run technology at a very large company you have most definitely shopped at! Also there is no more any of my husband's veteran friends would ever agree that "Hey let's just say Russia won, and give up!" Our NATO friends who are right there, don't feel this way. Poland and Finland alone could take Russia, and he has no clue how they have been preparing for decades. We don't need to ship everything there, the Poles and Finns have the means and the courage this man says we lack!

When Ryan said I had to listen to this next part three times or when he pointed out the Not-a-Javelin, I think he used did a good job of limiting propaganda and it shows the total truthfulness of the interview, and you get to make your own mind up. Me on the other hand, the first time I watched the interview directly I was swearing and bellowing and carrying on and I was just being emotional and not doing a good job of countering propaganda. The sandwiching of the video with "Truth has a ceiling, and with lies the sky is the limit" was perspective building for me. And while Ryan did not show disrespect for the Colonel he didn't let lies go untouched.

Always throwing in Christian in the mix, da? How about they are corrupting the Orthodox church. Christianity doesn't teach this and if you read the NT, you would understand Russia is a terrorist nation, full of lies as always. No one says to emulate RF. They are 40% drunks, thieves, and liars. They are anti-Christian. Stop saying they are Christian. They are not.

Lenin founded that nation an atheism. Marx said Religion is the Opiate of the People. (I hope I'm right there...). Russia uses religion for their own needs. Stalin is supposedly popular again, he was not mixing with priests. Most often there were shot or in a gulag. There is a reason I know so many Russian people here in the US. Anyone with any education and ability to leave, is leaving. My good friends are Russians, that are working ferociously toward that citizenship. They will tell you how wonderful the US is, how happy they are to be here, how lovely to own a house and have good jobs. They are good people, that any nation benefits from having as citizens and Russia will never get them back. This idiot on the Carlson show who said Russia is the top Christian nation has been fed a lot of either money or crap. As they said about Liberals in the 1960's, O"If you don't like it here, move to Russia". I think the Colonel should move to Russia.

Expand full comment

Lenin *didn't* found Russia. He helped create the USSR, which is not Russia. Russia is a nation with Christianity ensconced, the USSR was an atheist state that suppressed all religions.

I think you may be missing the point he is making. A certain ilk of Putin apologists in the West hold up Russia as the Good Guys because they are a "Christian nation". I'm fairly sure *that* is what Kyme is ridiculing,

I think he is pointing out that it is contrary the vision some have that Russia is the white Christian utopia we need and is mocking MacGregor's comment near the end about Putin trying to restore Russia as "an orthodox Christian state...". Like a lot of folks on the American right (and left, for that matter) today, Tucker Carlson’s found his grift.

Expand full comment

You do know that he doesn't believe the hype and is actually a pretty cool dude but sold his soul for money and fame. I have met him twice, years ago and he is a very charismatic and intelligent person. Tuck embraced his caricature of a person on Fox that personified into his misguided and erroneous beliefs. We caught a glimpse of his quasi-intrinsic values through the release of his text messages before he was relinquished of his employment contract from Fox News. I have always been a decent judge of character so am I wrong?

I concur but you have to understand, when you delve into that mentality with that amount of money/social influence and that perceived "power" can corrupt even the best of us. Damn, he used to be with CNN, so there's that conundrum. It's always the same point of contention for me. Should I sell out for the greater good, for my family, for money because when the day is done...your decisions often leave you alone and alienated, even when we think we choose the "right" option. I get it, but he also had the stature to fight the BS, and he chose to spread it. He wasn’t going to starve being honest, but he chose to become fabulously wealthy spreading lies. It wasn’t an either/or thing for Tucker. And as I said above, that makes it even more maddening.

know that I worked with the James Randi group, and was lucky enough to call him a friend to me and my family. Once the UFO people found an ASTRONAUT to agree with their claims, well he's an astronaut, so it must be RIGHT! Now, we were always not proven, and open minded. Willing to look at evidence, heck we wanted aliens landing as much as anyone, but we would require a lot of proof. This astronaut was at every conference, I'm sure he had a book, and was held up as one of the best sources of evidence for alien visitation. I'm not saying he was a bad astronaut, but there is money to be made being the professional that now pushes bad evidence to get speaking engagements.

I've been waiting for this since you announced it! You, Sir, are extremely level-headed as you debunk Tucker and him - the Patience of Job. I could not have done that. And kind - like when he ranted about AI, etc., and you gently pointed out his age:-) (I'm an old guy but I know my limitations). Kudos for being able to sit through that. Lotta lies to address. One - if Russia is so almighty powerful, blah blah blah, why isn't Putin being interviewed by Tucker in Kiev? Not sure why the likes of Tucker, macGregor, and Ritter are so pro-Russian. I'm not anti-Russian and when Kitai invades Russia, they'll have my sympathy too. But no arms:-)

well and people are listening to him. Man can't remember if he's been in Hawaii or not. But instead he is loving the attention and being on Tucker Carlson! I thought Conservatives were anti Russian, and proud of the USA. Proud of veterans and our military now. So just take those American flags off our cars, and put on Russian flags?

I find it dumbfounding how any American cannot see how Putin is their enemy. Yes, Hillary may have stimulated him by hinting at “regime change” but Putin murders, poisons, window tosses many people and clearly acts against USA economic interests worldwide. Putin’s best move ever was to pocket Trump. That moment when Trump disagreed with CIA in favour of Putin was the strongest “tell”. Anyone watch him when the news reporter pressed him to criticize Putin ? Trump would not. For a reported $4 billion, Putin gained substantial control over USA. But identity politics wins over the obvious and wins over patriotism. Trump will likely win the next election, continue to degrade NATO, and will support Russian imperialism. USA better hope Trump does not destroy America for a petty $4 billion.

I read COLONEL Macgregor's book, "Breaking the Phalanx," in 1998. When I did, I understood why the US Army never gave him a star. His proposal to re-form Army divisions into smaller organizations resembles nothing so much as Russia's BTGs (battalion tactical groups), which even Russia has abandoned. Macgregor premised his proposed doctrine on a tank development program (XM-8) that was cancelled right about the time the book was published. Anyone hanging on Macgregor's word is destined for disappointment.
