I am a subscriber or your substack and don't even bother going to your You Tube channel anymore, as the only things I'm really interested in are usually only discussed on your substack. It's the best $5 bucks I've ever spent. Hope it's enough to keep you going.
That's why I always go to the content crators page, I coose what I watch and that way I'm in control over my views.
P.S. - would love for you to do an analysis on doom sayer, the Canadian Prepper. I'm 90% positive that the majority of his content is in some way or form misinformation.
Thanks for the deep dive, Ryan. It explains how YouTube works om a content-creator perspective and illustrates the transparency for which we've come to know you.
How does demonetization work with the Premium users? I get it that ads will not run in your content, but for those that never see the ads anyway, you are supposed to be getting a part of my Premium subscription.
I bought a couple of shirts and a hoodie, I hope that helps. Unfortunately I had to pay $44.66 for shipping to Germany, feels like I also did some charity for the postal service.
VERY useful to understand more about how monetization works. Like what to make sure I visit and comment etc., and what I might have non-directly-political incentive to not bother viewing, let alone daring make a comment...
I've had a continuous headache from social media regarding content for my channel. YouTube has been OK so far but I'm only starting out so I've not had to deal with monetisation yet. I still have to be careful as my content can get lumped into the firearms category which it's not.
It seems very clear that mainstream media gets special treatment, based just on how YouTubers are way more careful about what they show (and STILL get demonetized sometimes).
I've just resumed my subscription to Ryan McBeth. And cancelled my subscription to youtube premium. I'm saving money.
I just really, really, really dislike censors and their sneaky, underhand, weasel ways
Bruv! You actually paid for YouTube "premium"? Not judging (maybe a smidgen) but it happens to the best of us. SLAVA UKRAINI and much love.

Thank you, that’s really kind of you to say

You keep doing what you do and I will keep spreading the word about you.

Folks, I just don't know any other guy who shares such valuable info every month with us.
And...AND, ya gotta admit - he has a way with hats.
Just got an annual subscription. I appreciate the simplified explanations of what's going on for those of us in Ukraine who are not military.

I am subscribed already, do you have other means of donations to you?
Well, you could buy a T-shirt or gift a subscription to someone

I see more disinformation on YouTube than most places.
You educating people on how to spot disinformation isn't against their community standards, it exposes their business model.
So, the major news outlets show conflict footage from Ukraine all the time, are they equally demonitized?
I don’t know. They may be playing by a different set of rules, or they just upload without monitization.

Nothing like good ole censorship.
