There are other countries involved - I'm guessing that they'll use UAE troops on the land side for 3 reasons:

1) They aren't US troops

2) They speak Arabic

3) The UAE has a good relationship with Israel including military.

Aren’t these sea approaches heavily mined already. Even when u anchor them, mines move. The US could go in under Israeli pilots and still hit mines. Is there no chance of an agreement with Egypt?

Here's a thought.

Yes these vessels will be useful for the stated task, but what a great way to cover the forward deployment of them for future use in Lebanon or Ukraine...

It's also a great training and international cooperation exercise.

100% it's not all about providing aid - that's just the story we're being told.
