Hah I wonder if the original intent was actually to sow _Canadian_ dissent and imply that Canada had spent $10bn CAD but then they had uptake in the US instead?
Good analysis, but it is just so sad how misinformed many of my fellow Americans are. This is why I don't do social media in any way. The closest I come is using WhatsApp to talk to my friends. For my own curiosity, has anyone ever studied/tried to figure out why so many people believe dumb stuff on the random internet posts or social media?
I left Twitter a long time ago, and had only just decided to give it another try shortly before the buyout fiasco started... I gave it a small time to see if it was going to improve or implode... It did not do the former, and I wish it would do the latter! I left soon after I saw the ridiculous stunts that were being pulled pretending to run the place created...
Ryan,
How can we 'harvest and amplify' your 'signals'?
Repost. Share them with people.
Can we seed the phrase "$10 billion for robes and whiskey!"
Excellent analysis Ryan. It also reminds me to stay off social media ;-)
This is gold. Well done.

There was a special edition of 'Scientific American' on the topic. https://www.scientificamerican.com/issue/special-editions/2022/special-editions-volume-31-issue-5s/

Hey Ryan I’m thinking this is more of a poke at Biden than a disinformation campaign, since so much money has been sent to Ukraine but not to Hawaii.
