As an experienced backpacker I strongly suggest that you do not hang your gear from the backpack. You look like a noob and the stuff swings about banging into you, other people and such. Far better is to use straps to secure gear tightly to the pack, or better yet get the right sized pack to fit everything inside.

Ryan mentioned that the downside of cowboy camping is stumbling into a dark night for a place to piss. I instead carry a collapsible and distinctive piss bottle in my sleep kit.

As an old mountaineer who has seen deadly falls resulting from leaving a tent at night to pee, I think it’s a great alternative. Don’t forget to empty it at first light!

Flip your stool upside down and it’s got room for 3 Sailors. Careful taking that with you next time you go out visiting the fleet!

Has a nice bed to sleep in, sleeps on the balcony. I got to admit, that’s some dedication right there! Good luck!

I have a cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and when I get bored I go outside and practice marking fire using various methods regardless of the weather. No matches!

Etch the inside of your cup to show water measurements in 1/4 cup and 1/3 cup increments. Maybe metric on the other side? Bring a knife. You probably only need a swiss army knife... the scissors come in handy to fix any broken nails. Those can get nasty if you try to bite the remnants off.

Cigar is good for bug control. I do not camp anymore after the disaster of husband getting Lyme, and a tornado and my discovery that tents do not have a basement! Please do a review after the trip. I'm interested in the camping stool. Also was the cooking equipment worth it? Or maybe bring a lot of nutrition bars? Also here is a hint BRING JIFFY POP!!! It smells so GOOD, and people will all want to grab a handful. Good luck!

Starbucks instant coffee! It’s the best, almost like freshly brewed and comes in individual packets just like the ones you have, I usually take a couple with me when I travel to ensure I have a fallback. Good luck.

I agree. It has been a long time since I had it, but yes, Starbucks is the best instant coffee. Growing up in the 1960s, my dad used to call instant "synthetic coffee".

Cup has imperial measures on the other side. I'm very happy that you do not camp.

It is a drag to have ashes fall from a cigar/cigarette into something you're planning on eating. How I know this is not important. Looks like you have rain in the forecast, BTW.
