2 things I've wondered - Can the Patriot intercept the PLANE before it launches?

and Are we building a wall (iron curtain of sorts) along the Ukraine/Russia border?

he PATRIOT is the U.S. Army's most advanced air defense system. Capable of defeating both high performance aircraft and tactical ballistic missiles, it is the only operational air defense system that can shoot down attacking missiles. A PATRIOT battery (i.e., the basic firing unit) consists of a phased array radar, an engagement control station, computers, power generating equipment, and up to eight launchers, each of which holds four ready-to-fire missiles. There are about 90 soldiers assigned to a battery, but three soldiers in the engagement control station are the only personnel required to operate the battery in combat. The first combat use of PATRIOT occurred in Saudi Arabia and Israel during Operation Desert Storm

Per the website it seems that it can shoot down aircraft. Seems to depend on the range. I saw something about pac 2 being 60 miles but I’m not sure.

Aegis can shoot down attacking missiles.

I’d be more concerned with how we are protecting the US borders. How many patriot batteries are here? It would be child’s play to take small drones and attack our energy infrastructure

Look at those Hamas protesters. Crazy eyes. Plenty of suicide bombers in those crowds.

We have vast oceans. A patriot system cant protect that. We have lots of other means to protect our sea borders.

I’ll be upset if these are not sent to Ukraine. Israel needs to act like a western ally, on Ukraine and Russia they’ve been somewhere between Hungary and Turkey. These are American systems loaned to Israel, going out of service, if they don’t send them, I think we should reassess supplying Israel with weapons. We bend over to help them yet they still go their own way whenever convenient

Hope so

Why can't we have national background checks on anyone buying weapons? Seems like the easiest solution to avoid that on the national scale of shooting up concert halls? I know it won't be perfect, but it is better than nothing at this point.
