Thanks for going deep on this one, Ryan. I work with satellite images to look for changes on conservation easement properties in Eastern Ohio. Next level would be an interactive slider and the ability to change the date. A guy can dream, right? Great presentation and easy to follow logic. Appreciate it, Ryan.
I don't disagree with Tucker Carlson about everything, but I just feel that the US has an interest in not letting Russia get away with invading Ukraine or any other independent countries.
1. Don’t confuse ignorance with negligence. Who was left in charge ?
2. When water gets under the dam it becomes a contest of densities between the dam materials and water. The dam is pushing back with less force. The structure has been compromised.
3. Long term piping can contribute to this lessening of the earthen wall effect, especially is the water flowing out is anything but clear.
So since this video has come out there has been several articles about explosions being detected. One about the USA detecting an large heat signature at the dam at the approximate time of failure (NY Times), another stating that Norway's seismological institute, Norsar, detected the blast (Reuters). Plus other claims of intercepted Russian calls. Does that affect your opinion at all.
Thanks for the write-up. You didn't take the current narrative that everyone is throwing around now and I appreciate the analysis.
Any thoughts on some of the comments coming out on intercepted conversation that Ukraine is now saying they have that Russia admits to blowing it up? Is this just more information war / finger-pointing for morality wins? https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/06/9/7406062/
Ryan, great analysis, thank you! I'm wondering if both a structural failure from not releasing the rapidly rising water level from the spring melt and an intentional explosion occurred to maximize the devastation? See https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/09/world/europe/ukraine-dam-collapse-explosion.html?smid=url-share Hard to explain a heat signature over the dam at the time of failure (if true).
I'm glad the article came out and confirms my suspicions posted earlier. The article shows TWO breaches in the June 7th photo, only one of which can be explained by scouring from a sluice gate.
If you do a video on this, or another article, I'd be interested in you debunking some of the other proposed theories. I see many people theorizing about Ukranian missiles or artillery. With my very basic understanding of armaments, it was my understanding that Ukraine has nothing in their arsenal capable of blowing up a dam other than an onsite demolition team. If the Russians had blown it up themselves, I'd think there would be visible damage/debris on the turbine house.
Thank you for putting together this analysis. Well written 👍

Interesting analysis. Much better than most and it make sense. The Russians aren't known for great maintenance. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

First person I thought of when I started to see all of the theories emerge. Keep up the good work!
This is great information. The likes of Tucker Carlson want to blame it on Ukraine with no evidence.
Tucker Carlson has his Alex Jones moments. More and more lately.
His stuff seems 50/50, either an inciteful comment that needed saying, or something batshit crazy.

R. I slept in a motel six last night.

First rate analysis. Just what I expected. The reach out to Stanford was a nice touch added.

Thank you for that. It’s nice to get the facts and the background. I know more about dams than I did before.

I saw the same article just now. "A US official says spy satellites detected an explosion just before dam collapsed"
amazing work, thanks a lot Ryan. You should get invited on national tv for this!
Phenomenal work!

Excellent job y'all. I appreciate you.
