Love that we got to see the people that make all this happen. Shows team work in the US military is a way of life, not just something you throw out at company meetings.
You are aware that the US Army and its Reserve/ Guard components have zero A-10s?
The Maryland Air National Guard, on the other hand…
Worked with these guys a “few weeks” ago at the very beginning of OIF. In fact, it was several years before I found out OIF started 20 March, and not the 18th when it started for us.
Phenomenal. I had no idea. I love these stories! As a big fan of the NFL, I have always loved the pregame ritual of the anthem and flyovers. Never have I considered the flyover as a waste of my taxes. Idk, it's an emotional reaction, the sound, the professionalism, the coolness factor...I get a little teary eyed every time.
Thank you for this video. Your camera shots are spot on. I worked with the A-10 when it was introduced. So, yes I’m old. But it still brings a lump in my throat when I see them fly especially during a flyover. Being a veteran brings me a sense of pride in our military and country that non veterans can never really appreciate. Thank you for your service and for your Substack. And yes, I am a supporter. Keep up the great and interesting work. JB
On net I suspect the flyovers are worth it given the need to recruit. However, as useful as a flyover might be for practice I doubt it's exactly what the air force would decide was the optimal way to practice during those hours.
The people who think that flyovers are a waste of money are the same people who say that in Ukraine covering fire is a waste of bullets. Plus, flyovers must be a big part of recruiting.

Great work putting this together. Always wondered about the timing.
Great video, bad tag.

Very informative on what on the surface seems to be a somewhat superficial video.
Excellent, I really love this military organisation and planning content. More please, sir!
