Idk man.. As a fellow army vet, tell me where you put your nuclear blanket. Did you carry that around with you at all times just in case? Or did you stuff that to the bottom of your duffel and forget about it? Also, don't you think if Russia is having a hard time giving their soldiers socks and in your own words "running out of artillery munitions", they might also have a hard time supplying each of their soldiers with gas masks?
Just saying. This footage looks pretty legit to me. The guy in the window may have also just suffered internal bleeding from the concussive blast that hit the window.
Also, why don't you show me footage you believe to be real combat with Russian soldiers with gas masks attached at their waist?
Even if you ignore Ryan's assertion that he should be carrying a gas mask, the rest of his theory is extremely sound and in my opinion, the more persuasive argument - Ukraine would not use gas and risk losing support from the West. No way, no how.
While I agree with #2, I do believe we are watching a real man die from internal wounds from the concussive blast. I also think that the other points he made about not having a gas mask, etc, are overly analytical and not "proof" of anything. I think Ukraine trying to be a NATO member would be all the motivation to not use chemical weapons.
Yeah, I am leaning toward it not being faked. But I do think Russia would do it and there is a non-zero chance Ryan is correct due to the ribbon shown. However, it’s more plausible it’s a concussion injury and Russia is using it as-is for chemical weapons propaganda. So, I agree with you there.
Also - that guy has facial hair. Remember why we have to shave? I was always told it was to have a tight seal for your gas mask. If he's not going to shave, but still have a trimmed beard, he probably won't be carrying a gas mask.
The point was if they believed there was a real CBRN threat they would have that stuff. Of course we left that stuff under our bunk but in desert storm, they had it. It's a small point to add to all the points of a bigger picture.
So...That video started before I knew anything about the subject matter so I was totally unprepared for what I saw. I think this gave me a unique perspective because this is how I experienced it.
1. The video felt Russian immediately. They have a certain "quality" to them
2. I was first shocked by the aggression but then as it went on, I felt a bit awkward that they were overdoing it and they were soldiers ffs!
3. They were completely unprofessional even in their position choice
4. The acting was terrible, especially the foaming mouth thing :-)
5. I was left thinking FAKE before I even had a clue what the subject of the post was !!!
The shock wave theory would seem accurate for that, but they do leave a man choking on his back for the purpose of filming and the ribbon is exceptionally prominent
Likely a pulmonary contusion/pulmonary edema from taking a rather close shockwave of the blast. At least clinically what it looks like.
Agreed

Looks like rabies or an Alka-Seltzer.

I think Ryan is saying two things:
1 - The video is staged/fake
2 - the Ukrainians wouldn't use chemical weapons.
