Telling, Ryan’s focus is on “disinformation” about the Biden-Harris disaster response and in a previous video how Russian money led to disinformation in “right wing” media sites trying to influence the American election. Nothing about the Democrats’ & Harris’s disinformation campaign weeks before the election from former Trump admin staffers that he wants general’s like Hitler’s generals and used a disparaging, racist comments about the cost of a Hispanic Soldier killed at Fort Hood. All these absurd claims were debunked by multiple Trump staffers in the room when he allegedly said this. VP Harris repeated these lies at a CNN town hall with no fact checking.
And the rest of us in the world shake our head at both sides in that it seems that you all (both sides) believe the garbage that comes out of your candidate's mouth and call the garbage that comes out the others ones lies. The worst of it for me though is that our own politicians are striving to emulate the style of US politics, spending more time attacking each other than fixing the bloody problems.
Being in professions all my life that rely on communication to fix and avoid problems, I blame algorithms all day long for forcing, not leading, people down rabbit holes. Give me some charcoal, some good meat, and a beer or rum and I'll find the centre ground with almost anyone, as I find it rare to find someone who is a complete dickhead to their core.
I feel it is essential that’s today’s young minds need to be able to answer the following questions by the time they finish high school:
Explain the difference between misinformation and disinformation.
Provide three examples of each.
What is ‘deceptive imagery persuasion’ (DIP)?
Describe an example of DIP.
Name three instances where DIP has actually been used as part of a disinformation campaign.
Describe the following three phases of a successful disinformation campaign:
Seeding:
Harvasting:
Amplification:
What is a ‘seeding account’?
What determines when the ‘harvesting’ phase of a disinformation campaign begins?
Explain the difference between a ‘bot’ account and a ‘sophist’ account.
What is the ultimate goal of any successful disinformation campaign?
Define ‘truthiness’.
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)…
Name two ways AI can be used in a disinformation campaign.
How might AI also be used to reduce the proliferation of disinformation?
What can one do to prevent becoming a part of a disinformation campaign.
… and more!
And I believe knowing how to answer to these questions would …
… of course …
… also be of great benefit to the older and more mature minds of those having just read this missive.
In closing:
Social Media …
… seems to be an ever deeper ‘rabbit hole’ down which many of our citizens are falling as America’s social and political ‘zeitgeist’ is constantly being warped by foreign actors in a manner that is both ruining our country and aiding agendas of our adversaries.
World War III may well have been underway for decades and continues to be fought on the internet…
… one tweet at a time.
And I truly believe we in America are presently teetering on the verge of losing …
… Big Time!
Stay Well…
Gary
Oh…
‘Zeitgeist’ - the general intellectual, moral and cultural spirit of an era.
Recent usage in a sentence…
‘Legally, passing a fishing ban in America’s anti-regulatory zeitgeist seems unlikely.’

Foreign actors spreading disinformation?! We get disinformation from the Republican nominees for president and vice president…. Come on now, let’s be 100% honest
Disinfo a problem? Government transparency an easy solution.

If Ryan chose to fact check the Harris and Trump campaigns, he wouldn’t have any time left to investigate foreign disinformation! 🤣🤣🤣

Lessons to be learned…
