I have translated the transcript (with some minor corrections) to Hebrew. I've marked some lingual best-fits with (~) for "approximate translation", or (?) for "there's got to be a better military term for this I don't know". The terms I don't know how to translate are:
* Munition (as opposed to "ammunition") - חימוש?
* Assembly area - איזור התאספות?
* To land short - להחטיא "קצר"?
* Combat posture - עמדת לחימה? תנוחת לחימה?
* Hatch - צריח? (That's the term for a tank hatch)

Nice haircut Ryan. You clean up well. I really enjoy your content; enough so that I usually stop what I’m doing when I hear substack announce a drop. Great content with a lot of thought and not much politics. That’s hard to accomplish and I thank you.
I was only a reserve infantry soldier never in combat but when on exercise we were “never” allowed to clump. Let’s say field kitchen was over there it had to be under camo net, we were told to find shade and low spots. No one had any energy to talk or milk around. So I guess these guys with vast experience simply didn’t consider drone or long range targeting. Even in my day we had spotters to go out and call in targets of opportunity for artillery or mortar. Since 1990 you can buy binoculars with passive range detection and accurate azimuth and cardinal direction. Now those Bluetooth into your sat phone so you spot a target at say 5 km line of sight that info is real time with a coordinator who can send whatever weapon to the spot. So I feel the guys are never safe without cover.
Excellent video … couldn’t agree more … not posting a guard in a combat zone is unforgivable and those troops should count themselves lucky if they were not hurt, which I pray they weren’t.
I had expected the IDF to own the spectrum over Gaza. I am not disappointed. EW means contesting something new all the time. You cannot control or observe the entire spectrum all at once. Sooner or later, the enemy will get a signal through.
"Owning the spectrum" is an easy throwaway phrase, but extremely difficult from a practical standpoint. Typical battlefield-scale EW, even really good stuff, can only cover a limited area around the emitter. Terrain and buildings can create masked areas and blind spots even withing that coverage. The reality is that even the best EW can only really cover important assets and areas. The Inverse Square Rule means that effectively covering everything would require a lot of massively powerful (and probably not very mobile) emitters. A unit like this that obviously doesn't have organic EW support is often likely to be operating exposed outside of the limited coverage there is.
What I’m more concerned with is the lack of reaction from the Israeli troops. No one is getting off the X and no one is searching the air. They are acting like this happened all the time.
