A user on Twitter spotted OG-7 rounds in what he claimed was Bakhmut. You can tell it’s the improved Bulgarian model by the orange tip.
This is the first time I’ve see OG-7 rounds in Ukraine - the first time I’ve really ever seen them used, although I’ve heard Afghan veterans mention them.
The typical RPG-7 warhead is wide and fat because it is an anti tank round.
That big fat, bulbus nose on the RPG-7 Anti-tank warhead is needed to allow the shape charge warhead jet to form.
But the OG-7 was designed from the jump to be an anti-personal weapon. with a point detonation fuse.
And an anti-personnel explosive charge.
What’s interesting is the Bulgaria has refused to send weapons to Ukraine until relatively recently, and even then only “Light Weapons” back in December.
So this Bulgarian OG-7 might be part of the delivery.
