They’re tip toeing a fine line these days between a woke anti gun culture and a really angry conservative woke gun culture. The actual liability will play out with the supreme court decision due soon. I have a few guns too. I can care less about the politics. I think both things are wrong. Also, I really enjoy your Substack and the above video. Thanks for your service and the really objective way you present information.

From what I gather from other gun centered

Youtube posters are saying, your big taboo

Was the infraction of showing “ loading”

Briefly inserting magazine and racking slide. You tube videos can no longer teach

... field strips and reassembly

... manual of arms

... threading something onto the muzzle

( there has been some walk back on the last one)

YT is becoming pitiful. If whoever was drug before Congress for questions, it wouldn’t help. Too many “true believers” believe what they do is correct and would still throttle content they disagree w/ regardless of rules. See Twitter post Elon purchase. It’s just stupid. I would say go to rumble or somewhere else but none of those video streaming sites seem to work as well as YT. They always seem to load slower or buffer more and just aren’t as convenient. Thanks to substack and patreon we can watch & support our favorite channels w/o paying YT to censor them. Thanks Ryan.

Let me be clear, 3 pistols and a rifle makes you a gun guy, not a gun nut, but a gun guy...

Gun are tools, that I fully agree with... Most people who carry them think their badges of honor or something along those lines I guess... The average responsible owner isn't the problem...

YouTube is becoming a major ballache with these rules. I have a small channel with Airsoft Content and even that's getting hassle for YouTube. For this P365 video, I believe the latest round of rules prohibits the showing of loading magazines and the cocking of weapons. So they might have got their knickers in a twist when you racked the slided ejecting the dummy rounds.

Wonder how much your posting history influences their scoring system. Have someone else post the same thing and see? (Make a small change that doesn’t impact content, just in case they’re looking at hashes to shortcut scoring.)

Would also be fun to test hypotheses about what catches their attention. Post a simple video (no racking, clip insertion, etc) and add these other things one at a time until it triggers YT?

(Why did this one generate ~2-4x more initial interest than other top videos of yours?)

You need an AR15.

Demonetized Demonized wow, they are nearly the same word, close enough for spell checker to mix them up. Thank you for having a substack!

Same complaints were lodged against Dick's Sporting Goods when they made business decision to shut down Field & Stream and reduce guns/ammo in remaining stores. Opportunities to build gun and ammo business opened, but ammo became nonexistent. So Dick's forecast was good call for them.

Maybe a confrontation by Congress could be what’s needed to kickstart some sort of change with YouTube’s obscure policies?

As someone who also owns a p365 (and loves it!) I was so confused by you jamming so much (trolled me well!)… then I noticed the 2nd one was orange and I was like… why is that dummy round? And then I heard your description. That’s a cool training idea, definitely doing it next time I’m at the range!

If you want to take that 10/22 out for a spin, let me know; I've got a membership at the AGC Maryland range up in Marriottsville. Nice to get a chance to shoot out in the open air sometimes.

Randomly put dummy rounds in so you can practice. That's awesome! It's like randomly letting 5lbs of air pressure out of my daughter's car tire so she can practice checking before she just leaves somewhere. (No, I've never done that. I'm trying to figure out a car equivilant) You may not be a "gun guy", but you are a "readiness guy".

The sig M17 and M18 that the military is replacing the Beretta M9 with ( it’s self a good gun if you get one that hasn’t been worn out, weak springs etc...the M18 being the more compact 3.9” barrel.... I have the M17 commercial, a M17 surplus with FOIA letter detailing its 2 yrs of service with the 101St at Fort Campbell ky. And a M18 Commemorative..... I even have a 500 rd case of M1152 service ammo

Ryan, Kel-Tek makes some interesting firearms, but I just can't classify them as anything more than fun plinkers, not as carry guns. I mean, I have a Sub2K with the Beretta 92 option, but that's because I have a 92FS, and they didn't have a 1911 option.... the Sub2K is lots of fun, BTW. Get the Beretta 33 round mags; your smile will be wider.

I bought a Springfield 911 in .380 and added a green laser sight for pocket carry; it has a really smooth trigger like a M1911. A Colt M1908 also makes a great carry pistol; same as a M1903 but instead of .32 APC, it's a .380 ACP. Lots of general officers used these as carry pieces from WW1 thru Korea and later. Mine was made in 1922, and is very fun to shoot.

YouTube does not have rules. YouTube has censors. Different entities are judged differently at different times by different people. There is no transparency, uniformity or fairness. There is just what the censors do and what management tells them to do, which are not always the same thing.
